Residency tasks may include: resource management and provisioning, monitoring of information assets, status reporting, configuration, internal or external customer support, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, documentation, and operations management. Onsite or remote residency services enable you to: • Realize greater and faster ROI on information infrastructure assets. • Improve operational efficiencies. • Expand management and support. • Increase customer satisfaction. • Narrow staff, skill, and/or experience gaps without additional headcount. • Improve planning and operational insight. For personalized, day-to-day customer support, or to manage support activities across your EMC infrastructure, EMC offers multiple onsite and remote personalized support residency services. These services help you drive rapid issue resolution, strategic planning, and improved storage availability and stability. Title: Storage Operations SAN Deploy / Sustain Engineer Location HYDERABAD SKILLS SUMMARY • Intermediate skills in storage products – Storage Area Networks (SAN), Enterprise Storage Arrays, • Knowledgeable of large scale Enterprise backup and NAS solutions • Intermediate experience with multiple host operating systems (Microsoft Windows, Sun Solaris, HP HPUX, IBM AIX) • Intermediate knowledge of multiple major vendor platforms • Intermediate business continuity/resiliency knowledge • Delivers project and process documentation for small-to medium-scale projects and drives compliance with structured Project Delivery Process. • Must have a strong technology background to understand change requests and to recommend alternate solutions. Skill Set required • Symmetrix / DMX / Symcli (Mandatory) • SRDF / Timefinder (Mandatory) • ECC (Mandatory) • Powerpath (Mandatory) • CLARiiON (good to have) • Navisphere (good to have) • San Copy/ Mirror View/ SnapView (Mandatory) • Switches – Cisco (Mandatory) • Unix/Windows (Mandatory) • Hitachi (good to have) ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • The Operations Deploy function is the Primary contact point for storage deploy and amendment activities • The function provides 7 day coverage from the 2 shifts running from India • On-site attendance is required to work 1 of the 2 India Shifts • The role has customer engagement. Both Customer teams and GTI teams engage storage operations deploy teams via Incident ticket, service request tools, email, instant messaging and telephone. • SAN Deploy engineers are responsible for monitoring and completion of all incoming SAN service request workload to the required SLAs • Engineers also responsible for assigned Sustain activities which include upgrade and maintenance planning and execution • Creation and management of required change approval documentation and approvals • Attendance on change approval meetings and LOB planning sessions as required • Maintain operational support and run book documentation • Execution of planned changes, updates to change management records per process. • Management escalation of changes that have activation of failures • Must have a strong technology background to understand change requests and to recommend alternate solutions. Manage Key Relationships • Data Centre Operations and Infrastructure Operations - IOC • Business Aligned support functions • Change Management groups • LOB support teams, AD Support teams • Level 2 / 3 support personnel • Other GTI support organisations • Vendor Level 1 / 2 support engineers EXPERIENCE : 4 to 10 years of experience (relevant Experience should be atleast 4 yrs in Storage) EDUCATION : B.E or M.C.A or ME or MTech OPERATION : 2 shifts (5.00 AM – 3,00 PM / 9.30 AM – 5.30 PM).
