DUBAI (Reuters) - An earthquake measuring magnitude 6.3 struck on Tuesday 89 km (55 miles) southeast of the city of Bushehr in Iran, where the country's only nuclear power station is located, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported.
The Iranian Seismological Centre at the University of Tehran reported a quake of 6.1 magnitude whose epicenter was Kaki, around 60 miles south of Bushehr, a port city on the Gulf.
Reuters witnesses felt the quake across the Gulf in Dubai, and Twitter users in Bahrain reported that offices in Manama had been evacuated after it struck.
The USGS said the quake struck at 1152 GMT at a depth of 10 km.
There was no immediate word on damages.

Earthquake shocks in the Arabian Gulf. Tremors felt in UAE, Qatar and Bahrain
An earthquake in Southern Iran which had a magnitude of 6.2 shocked the Arabian Gulf today. Dubai, Sharjah and other UAE coastal cities felt slight tremors.
Gulf news reported that the epicentre of the quake is located around 280km in the north of Manama Bahrain across the sea. It was registered as a severe earthquake.
People in Dubai's high rise buildings and residents panicked when they felt slight jolts and rushed out to open places and parks.
Some towers in Qatar and Bahrain have also been evacuated as part of emergency procedures. However, no casualties and property damage has been reported yet.
Al Ain: A severe 6.3 magnitude earthquake in southern Iran shocked the Arabian Gulf, jolting UAE coastal cities including Dubai, Sharjah and other emirates on Tuesday afternoon.
The epicentre of the quake is located some 280km in the north of Manama in Bahrain across the sea. It was some 10km deep into the earth and registered as a severe earthquake.
The quake caused people to panic in Dubai's high-rise buildings and residents rushed out to open places and parks. Some buildings in the Dubai Marina area have been evacuated and workers sent home. No casualties and property damage have yet been reported.
The US Geological Survey confirmed the earthquake's magnitude as 6.3. The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre has reported another aftershock of 5.4 magnitude in the same Iranian territory.
